Mashiara Kaensada was born on Long Island, New York in November 1980. His family moved to Madison County, Illinois around 5 years old. He graduated from high school in 1998 at the age of 17 and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Mashiara worked as a personalist (35051) at RAF Mildenhall in the United Kingdom. In 2014, Mashiara was convicted of a crime and incarcerated in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). He started his time at the maximum security section of Menard.
Mashiara's interest in art began by tracing images and modifying them with a friend from various Manga. At a Christian weekend retreat within the prison called Kaires, he drew on his Styrofoam cup in a picture of an Anime character reading a bible. Others at his table saw his work and assigned him to do all the table artwork for their table. By the end of the weekend an inmate at their table recommended he sign up for the art class telling him they knew someone who could get him fast-tracked into the class. Mashiara signed up but was transferred to Menard's medium security unit before he could attend. It was there that he first began painting, mostly Anime and Manga characters.
In late 2022 Mashiara was again transferred, this time to Western Illinois Correctional Center and began designing his own Manga characters to paint. In addition to art and bible studies his interests include reading (mostly fantasy novels such as the Wheel of Time, Brandon Sanderson's series, and of course Manga), role playing games (such as Pathfinder, Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 and Call of Thulhu), watching various TV shows, Anime, cartoons, old movies on TCM, foreign films, WWE, AEV, Nascar, and an occasional NFL game. He also loves learning and talking about computers and PC games. Mashiara is an all around geek who wonders how man can decipher his real first name from the pen name he is using.
Mashiara's favorite bible verse is Psalm 119:71, "It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I may learn your statutes." His favorite Psalm is Psalm 3.
